Concept Art for new Short Film

We’re writing the music for a new short film by Director Ben Jacobson (@benjjacobson). Here’s some of the Concept art for the locations:

We plan to have very simple music played on Ukeleles and mandolins. Farid from @valve_sound is going to be doing the post production sound.

New Pelime Video Featuring Music by Maryann and Michael Tedstone
Michael James Bell (BAEL)
PeLiMe [People Like Me] is an on-line global meeting place for like-minded, creative professionals.
Their most recent featured member video is on self taught artist Michael James Bell. The Video features music written by us for the Pelime Group.
The music itself features sound effects that we recorded using an old reel to reel tape recorder , and old glockenspiel , Propellor Heads Reason , Cubase and the PLAY engine.

Our Short Film ‘Self Help’ being distributed on DVD and online.
Directed by James Page – Self Help.
Late September 2009 and a small but dedicated crew descend upon Tamworth, in the heart of England. For three weekends the crew worked tirelessly, shooting at various locations around the area; the Castle Hotel, the local park, and a local builders merchants, BuildBase.
When James approached us about the music for ‘Self Help’ he described the film as being a balance between sad, funny and weird. He wanted the music to be slow , odd and eerie with a sad humour to it – something lofi and modern.

Our Work with Pelime
People-Like-Me
Pelime is a community for like minded creative-industry professionals. We’ve worked with them on a number of projects now. They came to us with the idea of having a piece of music that could represent Pelime and be used in their featured member videos.
The music had to be versatile enough to work across a number of creative professions. We’ve had some great feedback so far.

Working on two new short films
Something Blue dir. Rebekah Fortune
We got introduced to Something Blue by James Page who is Editing/Producing the Film. We’ve worked on a number of projects with James before including ‘Self Help’ which he Directed and was shown at Festivals in the UK and Germany.

At this stage I really don’t know what the score is going to be like – we’re going to have to think hard about this one.
Consequence dir. James Statham
I’m looking forward this. We got sent the rough cut today and it’s great. Very stylish, and gritty – the whole film is very impressive. We’ve been listening to some Massive Attack , and James has mentioned Thomas Newman so the score is likely to be interesting!
